Break your smoking habit with Hypnosis and NLP

Stop Smoking with Alternative Treatments Such as NLP

Most of us, if not all of us, understand that smoking is harmful to our bodies and there is no healthy aspect of smoking at all. The problem is, we keep smoking. Although many of us have also stated that we would like to stop smoking, it is a nasty habit we cannot kick.

Smoking is a habit that is not only unhealthy and can cause many problems, but it is also displeasing to those around smokers. Unfortunately, this habit is very hard to quit. Many people have tried different approaches such as weaning off cigarettes, quitting "cold turkey", chewing gum or using patches. Some of these items may work for a select few; however, they do not cater to the general public.

Let"s look at some of the ways to quit smoking more closely:

1. Weaning off cigarettes is not an effective way of kicking the habit. This just prolongs achieving anything. It allows that person to say, just another pack, or, I am very close to quitting.
2. "Cold Turnkey" is sometimes the one method that does work for people, for a shorter period of time. This process involves throwing away what cigarettes are left and then using nothing else but will power not to smoke. During this process, the quitter is restless, irritable and just plain not in a good mood. If the person quitting does have success, the likelihood that they will return to smoking are great.
3. Chewing gum whether it be tobacco gum or regular is also a way to curb the craving. Unfortunately, this does not have a high success rate. The concept behind the regular gum is that it is an oral fixation; however, it does not replace cigarettes well. The tobacco gum often makes people sick to their stomach and they discontinue use.
4. Tobacco patches are actually a fairly effective form of quitting. The main downfall to these patches is that they require a significant money investment. Most people who start to use them wind up discontinuing due to cost factor.
So what other options are left if these do not have a good success rate? There are a couple of other alternatives that are effective and are also safe and healthy.

Neuro-Linguistic programming, or NLP for short, can help you stop smoking. Through the process of hypnosis, you will be resisting cravings, keeping yourself committed and feeling less stressed and more relaxed which will help make sure you do not feel the need to smoke.

The addiction to cigarettes is both physical and mental. The physical aspect of cigarettes usually lasts somewhere between 3 days and a week. This is really not that long of a time span. The body only takes a short period of time to return to body levels that are free of nicotine that was received from smoking.

So why is smoking so hard to quit? Well, the other 90% of the battle is with you. This is why most of the above methods to stop smoking above have a huge failure rate. In turn, this is why NLP is the preferred method of putting down a cigarette for good.

Here is why it works:

1. When you smoke, you are conditioning your body to respond a certain way. For example, if you smoke after you eat, your body sees that as the needed thing to do. The more you do it, the more your mind depends on that. NLP works to eliminate those connections.
2. Smoking is like a ritual, NLP uses the subconscious to suggest to you body that you do not need the nicotine or need to light up.
3. NLP focuses on the benefits of when you stop smoking. This is done using imagery as well as other senses.

Alternative treatments such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming have been around for a long time and now, thanks to advancements in technology, we can now access important information as well as get the tools we need directly through the internet. Ndependence Hypnosis offers tools such as MP3’s and CD’s to help you stop smoking though hypnosis and Neuro Linguistic Programming techniques.

So how can hypnosis and NLP help you stop smoking? The answer is simply the fact of re-programming yourself to think a different way. Hypnosis helps open up that door to your subconscious by relaxing your mind and body to the fullest extent. The best part is, you can do self hypnosis. In fact, you do this quite often without even realizing it. Have you ever been engrossed in a book so much that you completely tuned out what was going on around you? What about when you are driving and feel like you are on “auto-pilot”? You really do not remember getting to the place or even the things that happened around you while you were driving because you zoned out. These are both forms of self hypnosis.

There are many approaches to stop smoking with utilizes alternative approaches such as NLP and Hypnosis. The goal of these two techniques is to interrupt your thought patterns on smoking and then correct them by instilling other thoughts about smoking or creating different behaviors towards smoking.

When a smoker references themselves, they say that they “are” a smoker. In actuality, they are just a person who chooses to smoke. The first thing a person who smokes needs to do is strip the thought away that smoking is part of them. That way they understand that there is not going to be anything missing from them when they choose to not smoke.

The MP3’s and CD’s will take you through many different approaches and help you be successful at choosing not to smoke. A way to think about interrupting your smoking habits is by interrupting the physical aspects of it. For example, if you smoke with your right hand, the next time you pick up a cigarette pick it up with your left hand. When you manage to successfully pick it up with your left hand, look at it and ask yourself some questions. Ask yourself how you feel. More than likely your response will be along the lines of “I don’t know” or “I am craving one”. Then, ask yourself why you want to smoke. Ten to one you will not be able to answer that question with a valid reason because it is an automatic response to your addiction to cigarettes. Then, you should take another moment and tell yourself that the cigarette is full of something nasty. In the end the person still lights the cigarette, however, it is being instilled in their mind. After about 21-30 days, the person will find it a hassle to smoke along with disgusting.

The techniques CD’s and MP3’s can provide a person when they are looking to stop smoking are priceless. Take the time to look into hypnosis and NLP techniques as a safe alternative to medication for kicking this bad habit.
